Uplifting music and faith-based programming. WDOZ 91.7 FM brings the Contemporary Christian sound of Z88.3 to Pierson, Crescent City and the rural communities of North Central Florida.
📻 History: WDOZ 91.7 FM is a Class C3 Christian station licensed to Pierson, Florida, a small farming town in northwestern Volusia County known as the "Fern Capital of the World". It broadcasts at 5,000 watts ERP from an antenna 108 meters (354 feet) above average terrain, a stronger signal than most of its sister stations.
WDOZ is part of the Z88.3 network, whose Orlando flagship WPOZ 88.3 FM signed on August 14, 1995. WPOZ grew out of a plan by founder and president Jim Hoge and Dean O'Neal in 1987 to launch a full-time Contemporary Christian station in Orlando, and it overcame interference with a local TV station by combining both signals into one antenna.
Today WDOZ is owned by Central Florida Educational Foundation, Inc. and operated by Z Ministries, Inc. It simulcasts the Contemporary Christian music and faith-based programming of Z88.3, serving Pierson, Crescent City, northwest Volusia and southern Putnam counties.
