ABC Country: Australian country music, with about 70 percent Australian content, on digital radio and online.
📻 History: ABC Country is a digital radio station owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the country's national public broadcaster. It launched in July 2009, when the ABC's earlier digital channel Dig Country was rebranded, and it is available on DAB+ digital radio, digital TV (channel 203), mobile devices and online, including through the ABC Listen app.
The station showcases established and emerging country artists from Australia and around the world, with about 70 percent Australian content, including around 5 percent Indigenous Australian country. Its schedule includes Early Morning Country and Saturday Night Country, a program that is also heard on ABC Local Radio.
A small number of self-help retransmissions in Western Australia and Queensland also carry its program stream, extending its reach beyond the cities covered by digital radio. As part of the ABC's national network of digital channels, ABC Country gives country music fans across Australia a dedicated station, with an emphasis on local artists and storytelling, without regional limits.
