KBNJ 91.7 FM, "Life Changing": Christian radio from Corpus Christi, Texas, sharing hope and inspiration, a ministry of Inspiracom.
📻 History: KBNJ 91.7 FM is a Christian radio station licensed to Corpus Christi, Texas. The Federal Communications Commission issued a construction permit for the frequency on June 12, 1979, and the station was first assigned the call sign KQIV that August. It became KFLB on July 27, 1983, and took its current call sign, KBNJ, on July 18, 1984.
The station received its license to cover on April 25, 1985. It is held by World Radio Network, Inc., which requested an update to its technical facilities in 2014; FCC records now list it as a Class C2 station, and its current license runs through August 1, 2029. World Radio Network, a ministry at the U.S.-Mexico border, began using the name Inspiracom in 2013 across its 13 FM stations, which stretch from Corpus Christi, Texas, to Yuma, Arizona.
Today KBNJ, branded "Life Changing", broadcasts a Christian adult contemporary format and is presented as a ministry of Inspiracom. Its schedule mixes music with teaching programs such as Focus on the Family and Insight for Living. Listener support, including an annual fall Sharathon, funds its mission to share hope through Christian radio in the Coastal Bend.
