TOP 40 · TIJUANA · BAJA CALIFORNIA · .MX
San Diego and Tijuana's #1 Hit Music Station. Top 40/CHR in English, 24 hours a day with 100,000 watts from Mount San Antonio.
📻 History: Z90.3 (XHITZ-FM) first signed on in September 1970 as XHIS-FM, licensed to Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The station adopted its current call letters in 1984, and on April 5, 1990, launched the "Z90" Top 40 format under Program Director Rick Thomas — quickly overtaking rival Q106 to become the dominant CHR station in the San Diego-Tijuana market. Over the years, Z90.3 cycled through rhythmic, hip-hop, and dance-leaning formats, briefly rebranding as "Jammin' Z90" in 2012 before returning to the Z90 name in 2014 with its current mainstream Top 40/CHR sound. The station is programmed in English by Local Media San Diego from studios in Sorrento Valley, San Diego, with a 100,000-watt transmitter on Mount San Antonio in Tijuana. The Mexican broadcast concession is held by Comunicación XERSA, S.A. de C.V.
